The Real Madrid forward is hopeful that Liverpool FC star Mo Salah will feature at the World Cup
Cristiano Ronaldo is hoping Liverpool FC star Mo Salah can make a full recovery to compete in the World Cup.
The Reds forward was forced off in the first half of Liverpool FC’s 3-1 loss to La Liga giants Real Madrid in the Champions League final in Kiev.
Salah suffered a shoulder injury following a challenge with Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos to cast doubt on his World Cup participation.
The 25-year-old beat Ronaldo’s record of 31 goals in a Premier League campaign after the African forward netted 32 times in his first season in the English top flight.
Salah finished the season with 43 goals in all competitions after the Egypt international netted 10 times to help Liverpool FC reach the Champions League showpiece.
Egypt will take on Uruguay in their first game of the World Cup on Friday where Salah could face Liverpool FC legend Luis Suarez.
Portugal and Real Madrid star Ronaldo is hopeful that Salah will feature in the major tournament in Russia.
“Mo Salah has been one of the revelations of the year,” Ronaldo said.
“I hope his injury in the final in Kiev doesn’t keep him out.”
Salah moved to Liverpool FC in a £39m deal from Serie A giants AS Roma in a 2017 summer transfer window.
The Reds finished in fourth place in the Premier League table to secure their continued participation in the Champions League.
